The Georgia Teen Mother Scholarship is sponsored by two anonymous families in Georgia who feel that teen mothers need additional support BEYOND high school. Many programs exist to help teen mothers complete a high school education, but few exist to help them with higher education.

It is the hope of the scholarship sponsors that the winners of the Georgia Teen Mother Scholarship will finish a college degree and go on to be a positive influence in the lives of other teenage mothers. Getting a college degree is the key to a higher-paying job that provides opportunities for teen mothers' children that they might not otherwise have had.
